Fino a qualche anno fa i libri sui microcontrollori erano introvabili in Italia, e in particolar modo era impossibile reperire un testo sugli 8 bit, sebbene siano da sempre i piu' diffusi. La formazione dei progettisti 8052 e' stata quindi fondata principalmente sui data sheet delle aziende produttrici. Oggi c'e' una certa panoramica di testi specifici per la famiglia MCS-51, ma ugualmente si raccomanda a chiunque volesse avvicinarsi all'argomento di prendere come testo principale di riferimento le specifiche Philips della famiglia 8052, che sono le piu' chiare e complete:

Pur essendo presenti sul mercato alcuni testi, nessuno di questi e' in italiano. E' dunque necessaria una certa dimistichezza almeno con l'inglese tecnico.
